Born and raised in the south, artist Jane Croy has been an art teacher, art curator, art gallery owner, and author of the book The Seven Steps to Selling Your Artwork. Each of these vocations has taught her much about the painting style she has developed which she calls “chunky impressionism”. Jane paints both in oil and acrylics loading her brush much like an artist would load a palette knife. She often mixed her color right on the canvas. Her colorful underpaintings take the canvas from its’ “virgin white” to huge explosions of color and texture. Jane’s artwork can be seen and purchased at Bingham and Broad and the Center for Southern Folklore in Memphis and at American Sideshow in Gatlinburg, TN. Commissioned pieces and unique portraits are available from Jane by contacting her through the website, JMCroy.com or at JMCroyArt@gmail.com.
