I’m a native of London, England, and found my way to Germantown, TN., some 21 ago via Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and Leesburg, VA. I have traveled extensively thanks to a career in the airline industry for the majority of my working life.
Photography has been my creative outlet on and off for 44 years. I guess it all began in 1966 when I saw the movie “Blow Up,” which depicted the life of a London based fashion photographer who unwittingly becomes embroiled in a murder! My style in those early days was basic mimicry; fashion photography in the style of David Bailey, Terence Donovan and Brian Duffy, using relatives and friends as models. However, living in London during the “swinging sixties” and being in a position where I traveled frequently I soon began to focus on “scapes,” land, city and water.
As an artist-photographer, I look for compositions that captivate, that create goose bumps—or as I most often like to say, inspires poetic intoxication! I prefer natural light, being stimulated by bold and brilliant colors, lines, shapes, and textures. I attempt to photograph scenes from a unique perspective so that my images are not just a viewing experience, but a compelling and thought provoking experience for the viewer.
